PLAINFIELD, NJ — The City of Plainfield will hold its Council Reorganization meeting this Monday, January 6, at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Municipal Court, 325 Watchung Ave.

At the meeting Mayor Adrian O. Mapp and the City Council will announce new appointees and Council liaisons to local committees, as well as professional services vendors for 2020.

Sean McKenna will take his seat as Councilman for the Second Ward, with Mary Burgwinkle administering the oath of office.  Barry Goode will be sworn in for another term as Councilman, First & Fourth Wards.

McKenna told TAPinto Plainfield, "I am honored to represent the residents of the Second Ward on the City Council, and I look forward to working with my council colleagues, the Mayor, and his administration to deliver quality services to our citizens, and ensure that our continued progress as a city sets Plainfield on a solid track for a vibrant future that benefits all residents."

Other items on the agenda include:

  • The reappointment of Pedro Estevez to serve as a member of the Green Brook Flood Control Commission;
  • Appointments of Albert Pittis and William Howard Terry to serve as members of the Plainfield Cultural & Heritage Commission;
  • Appointments of Robert Graham and Sandra Harrison to serve as members of the Zoning Board of Adjustment;
  • Appointments of Jacqui Workman, William Toth, Rick Hunt, Alma Blanco (Alternate #1), and Stacey Welch (Alternate #2) to serve as members of the Planning Board;
  • Appointments of William T. Garrett and Gary F. Schneider to serve as members of the Plainfield Historic Preservation Commission;
  • Appointments of Junior Taylor and Rev. Paul Dean to serve as members of the Plainfield Human Relations Commission.
