PLAINFIELD, NJ — Construction can now move forward on a new WaWa food market and gas station on Terrill Road as the Plainfield Planning Board approved final site plans to combine two lots at South Ave. as part of the South Avenue East redevelopment plan.
Joseph Paparo, an attorney representing WaWa’s application reviewed a list of items at Thursday’s board meeting he said developer, South Terrill Urban Renewal, LLC has completed, thereby satisfying the terms and conditions city planners requested in order to develop the properties into the new business.
This includes the addition of a dedicated pole in the parking lot with a 360 degree-view video camera that ties directly to the Plainfield Police Department and is not part of WaWa’s own security system.
The planning board was also to hear plans from Joshwa Money School, LLC to convert the Van Wyck Brooks mansion into a bed and breakfast. However, due to a clerical error with their notice to appear, representatives for the developer will instead address the Sept. 5 board meeting.
