PLAINFIELD, NJ - The City of Plainfield, according to a published legal notice, is seeking bids for its City Hall Cupola and Roof Repairs Project.

In March 2019, Pennoni Associates Inc. submitted a proposal to perform an evaluation of water intrusion sources affecting the upper level of City Hall, to prepare plans and specifications for repairs, and to conduct an indoor air quality investigation.  See the proposalpdf.  The City Council unanimously adopted a resolution authorizing a professional services contract to Pennoni for up to $133,800.00 at its June 17, 2019 meeting.

SECTION A CITY OF PLAINFIELD UNION COUNTY, NEW JERSEY NOTICE TO BIDDERS Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City of Plainfield, Union County, New Jersey Purchasing Division, for the City Hall Cupola and Roof Repairs Project, and opened and read in public at the City of Plainfield Municipal Building, 515 Watchung Ave., Plainfield, New Jersey on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 11:00 AM prevailing time. The work includes the furnishing of all labor, material, and equipment necessary or required to complete all work set forth in the specifications. The work generally consists of milling, resurfacing with base course repair, concrete curbing, driveway apron repair, miscellaneous sidewalk repair, stormwater system repairs, and ADA compliant handicap ramps. Plans, Specifications, and forms of bid for the proposed work, prepared by Pennoni Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers, are on file in the City of Plainfield Purchasing Division, 515 Watchung Avenue, Plainfield, N.J. 07060 and may be inspected by prospective bidders during business hours beginning Wednesday, January 8, 2020. Bidders will be furnished with a copy of the contract documents and plans by the City of Plainfield Purchasing Division, upon proper notice and payment of a non-refundable copy cost of $25.00. Proposals must be made on the Standard Proposal Forms in a manner designated in the contract documents, must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the work on the outside, addressed to Cynthia Blake, Purchasing Agent City of Plainfield Division of Purchasing, 515 Watchung Avenue, Plainfield, N.J. 07060 and must be accompanied by all items identified in the Contract Documents including, but not limited to, a Statement of Consent of Surety from a surety company holding a Certificate of Authorization to do business in the State of New Jersey and a bid guarantee (Proposal Security) for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid except that the guarantee need not exceed $20,000.00. Prospective bidders are hereby notified that an original and one CD or three (3) copies with signatures of the entire bid package must be submitted to the City. The City of Plainfield reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of the City of Plainfield.
