PARSIPPANY, NJ - Lines of cars, buses and limousines waited patiently in a 3/4 mile long line to drop off over 600 special prom guests at Parsippany's Liquid Church location. There were strobe lights in the air, a long red carpet and a long line to make a grand entrance for each special guest.
"This is the first time we can bring our NJ locations under one roof now that we are in the new campus here in Parsippany", said Todd Becker, Volunteer Security Guard for Liquid Church.
Each of the over 600 attendees were paired up with a 'date'/buddy so that they could jointly experience all of the joy that was present. There was karaoke, photo booths, lemonade and of course dancing! The Liquid Church also provided an All-Day Beauty bar with free primping treatments during the day for hair, makeup, shoe shines and styling.
There was even a place for parents to go who wanted to stick around. In a special lounge, parents were treated to refreshments and shared company.
Brooke LeMunyon, Communications Coordinator for Liquid Church said "This is a very touching evening not only for the guests but for the 1000 volunteers who are volunteering their time. Everyone is so happy to be here".
Chick-fil-A was also on site preparing free food for the volunteers.
"A Night to Shine" is sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Hundreds of these events were going on throughout the country. The evening is focused on honoring those with special needs, such as autism, aspergers, down syndrome and cerebral palsy. The evening ends with everyone being crowned either a prom king or queen. Every guest, including the Liquid Church and Tim Tebow is a star.
