Unlike the misunderstood threat that locked down Bayonne High School on February 23, this tweet directly called out Bayonne Public Schools.

According to a Facebook post from Mayor Jimmy Davis, all Bayonne district schools will be on high alert on Monday, with police officers in the buildings throughout the day.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Michael Wanko confirmed the additional police presence in the schools. In a letter to parents, Wanko said the district received the threat at 7:43 p.m. on Sunday, though the tweet was sent out on Friday night.

"Postings like this cause much anguish and concern for parents, students and staff," Wanko said in a letter to parents. "Currently, the police and our IT department are investigating the origin of the posting. As information is shared with me regarding the investigation, I will notify everyone."

Wanko said the district will also deploy additional administrators to each building as well.
