PLAINFIELD, NJ - The second nor’easter in less than a week has paralyzed much of Central New Jersey and Plainfield.

A Nixle alert sent by the Plainfield Police Division advises residents to use extreme caution during winter storm Quinn. Numerous calls for downed wires and trees have been reported. The alert stressed that under no circumstance should you attempt to move or touch wires for your own safety.

Contact your local utility to report an outage or service interruption; do not assume that they are already aware of the problem. Following is a list of local utilities:
