PLAINFIELD, NJ — Pleas from the city's first responders continue to roll in. Personal protective equipment, or PPE, is sought as supplies are extremely low.
Plainfield Police Director Lisa Burgess said in the release, "Our first responders put their lives on the line every day to keep the City of Plainfield safe. They continue to do this with the same pride and respect even during this difficult time. For that, we are grateful for our Police, Fire, EMS and Public Works Employees."
The release goes on to note that the administration has been doing everything it can to get the proper supplies needed for the first responders, but due to high demands across the country, it is proving to be a very difficult task.
N95 masks, surgical masks, disposable coveralls and gloves are requested. Any residents or businesses who have a supply can contact Sgt. N. Carvalho at 908-510-0050. Items can also be dropped off at the Plainfield Police Department, located at 200 East 4th Street.
