PLAINFIELD , NJ - The Plainfield Police Division, in partnership with the Fire Department and City Council, hosted a Community Safety and Awareness event on Saturday, Sept. 28 on the importance of safety.
“We wanted to come out and share with the community about the importance of being safe and taking extra precautions,” stated Police Director Lisa Burgess.
Safety concerns and how to avoid becoming a victim were highlighted. The police and fire departments prepared pamphlets with safety prevention tips for citizens.
The event had vendors present, including Ring, a home security system that uses doorbell cameras and lighting to detect motion at your front door.
“This was a great event where you were able to ask safety questions one-to-one about the different safety measures you should take,” said Council President Joylette Mills-Ransome. Council members Barry Goode, Charles McRae and Elton Armady were also in attendance.
The event was sponsored by the PBA 19 Local.
