PLAINFIELD, NJ - According to Plainfield Police, on Friday, June 14, at approximately 10:56 p.m., Plainfield patrol units responded to the 1300 block of Myrtle Avenue to investigate the sounds of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, 35, with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. A short time later, central dispatch received a second call of another injured individual. This individual an adult male, 36, was located with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
According to the press release, the first victim has been released from the hospital, while the second victim remains in critical condition.
The Plainfield Police Criminal Investigation Bureau will continue to investigate. There are no other details available at this time.
