PLAINFIELD, NJ — Plainfield residents may find themselves having to choose which virtual meeting to attend on Tuesday night. There are three that overlap: a George Floyd Police Reform Commission public hearing, the Historic Preservation Commission's monthly meeting, and a Board of Education business meeting.

George Floyd Police Reform Commission

The first of two public hearings, originally slated to start at 4 p.m., has been moved to a 7 p.m. start time. The commission was formed on July 1, according to a press release from the administration, and its goal "is to review current policing policies and procedures of the Plainfield Police Department and make recommendations that will be submitted in a public report. The report will be submitted to the Governor's Office, the Union County Prosecutors Office, and the State Attorney General's Office."
