SOMERSET, NJ — It's going to be a battle of the undefeated on Wednesday when the 7-0 Plainfield Cardinals take on the 8-0 Franklin Warriors in the Big Central Middle School Championship Game at Franklin High School.

"This group of young Kings is simply amazing," Cardinals Coach Kenny Howard remarked.  "The heart and determination they possess is unmatched. We are so proud of them.  They deserve to showcase their talents for one last time in this Championship game. There is no other place they would rather be. This team is something special, and will be a joy to watch."

"Our team's 8-0 season is not a mistake," FMS Coach Blair Wilson told TAPinto after the team's 38-0 win over the Piscataway Braves.  "The team has been working hard since June. With hard work and dedication, this is what happens."

Last week Wilson said, "This Wednesday we marked off our second to last team goal." He added, "We have nine as a team. The last goal has Plainfield's name on it."

Cardinals Coach Josh Webb told TAPinto Plainfield, "I'm aware this game won't be a walk through the park. But we're ready for the challenge and our goal is to win. No matter what, we can't let the elements affect us."

Plainfield Board of Education member Terence Johnson noted, "We are very proud of our middle school team.  Coaches Webb and Howard, and the entire coaching staff, continued to pound the pavement to recruit kids to play this season; the only promise was that they would get better!  It’s only fitting they end the season in the title game!"
