WARREN, NJ - Senior Julia Cunningham filled the stat sheet for the Watchung Hills girls basketball team, racking up a triple-double with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, and added 5 steals, as the Warriors advanced to the semifinals of the North Jersey, Group 4, Section 2 state tournament with a win over Plainfield in the quarterfinal round on Thursday, 76-36. 

The Warriors advance to play at home in the semifinals at noon on Saturday against either Scotch Plains-Fanwood or Westfield.

Sophomore Mahogany Jenkins led the scoring for the Warriors (22-3) with 18 points and added 8 rebounds while Sophomore Jayden Baltuch chipped in 13 points and six assists. Tahini Helms-Ishmael paced the Cardinals with 16 points.

“Congratulations to Coach Kirchofer,  his staff, and our Lady Warriors basketball players on their state tournament victory tonight at home against Plainfield,” said WHRHS Director of Athletics Chris Van Vliet. “The team played very well tonight and we are excited for the semi-final round of the state tournament at home on Saturday at 12 noon. Congratulations ladies and good luck on Saturday.”
