Congratulations are in order for Big Apple Ticket, the 2017 Rahway Recreation Men’s Summer Slow Pitch USA Softball League and Round Robin Champions.  After a first round bye, Big Apple Ticket won their second round series against Cooler Crushers before winning the championship series against longtime rival Styles Inn, crowning them league champions for a record 10 straight seasons.  Game 1 of the championship series was a hard fought 3-1 victory for Big Apple, followed by a 14-2 victory in the deciding game.

In the Round Robin tournament, Big Apple Ticket defeated league newcomers Rahway Public Works, before beating rival Butch Kowal’s Tavern in the semifinals and Style’s Inn for the round robin championship.

The historic Rahway Slow Pitch Softball League was formed over 40 years ago and has seen teams such as Butch Kowal’s Tavern, Cooler Crushers, Garwood Lanes, and Styles Inn compete for decades with the addition of newer teams like the Rahway Fire Fighters, D.P.W. and N.P.C.  In an age where slow pitch leagues are becoming a piece of the past, the Rahway league is looking to expand.  If you are interested in joining the 2018 Summer league as a free agent, as a team, or as a local business looking to sponsor a team, please email Anthony Deige for more information at adeigejr@cityofrahway.com
