Auditions for Fearless Icon Winner's Dream Show to be Held in Rahway


Auditions: 6/12, 6/14 from 6:30-10:30 PM.
Callbacks: 6/18 from 6:30-10:30 PM.
Location: The Union County Performing Arts Center’s Hamilton Stage, 360 Hamilton Street, Rahway, NJ

Those auditioning are asked to come prepared to sing a 16 to 32 bar cut of a Sondheim song NOT from COMPANY, or an appropriate style song. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring your own music. No acapella or recorded music. All roles are open with the exception of ROBERT, who has been cast with FEARLESS ICON WINNER TIMOTHY WALTON. We will also be casting “The Vocal Minority” – 6 pit singers for the show. There will also be cold readings from the script.

Rehearsals will begin Mid to Late JULY [Tech week and show dates are non-negotiable. If you cannot attend tech week or a show date, please do not audition.]

Sondheim’s musical genius is displayed at its finest here in this modern work of art. What happens when an eternal bachelor has to listen to the advice of his married friends?  

A list of character descriptions follows :

  • Sarah, Female, Alto, 30 – 40. Know-it-all, dieting wife of Harry, who has taken up karate.
  • Harry, Male, Baritone, 30 – 45. Sarah’s husband, struggling not to be ‘whipped’, recent recipient of a DWI.
  • Susan, Female, Mezzo, 25 – 35. A sweet, Southern Belle, and adoring wife of Peter.
  • Peter, Male, Baritone, 25 – 35. Ideal, Ivy League-type, married to Susan.
  • Jenny, Female, Soprano, 30 – 45. Middle-class, run-of-the-mill wife of David.
  • David, Male, Tenor, 30 – 45. Middle-class, attempting-to-be-modern husband of Jenny.
  • Amy, Female, Alto, 25 – 40. Frantic, anxious, bride-to-be of Paul, who overanalyzes everything.
  • Paul, Male, Tenor, 25 – 40. Calm, cool, loving groom-to-be of Amy, who loves her more than life.
  • Joanne, Female, Alto, 45 – 65. Sharp-tongued realist who knows what she wants, and often wants a drink… or ten.
  • Larry, Male, Tenor, 45 – 65. Somewhat oblivious, enjoying-life-in-the-moment, husband of Joanne.
  • April, Female, Mezzo, 21 – 30. One of Robert’s girlfriends, an airline hostess, naïve and ditzy.
  • Kathy, Female, Mezzo, 30 – 40. One of Robert’s recent girlfriends who is getting married and moving. ABILITY TO DANCE A PLUS
  • Marta, Female, Mezzo, 25 – 35. One of Robert’s girlfriends, in touch with the common man, passionate about her beliefs.

Cranford High Student Competes at U.S. Junior Amateur Sectional Qualifier

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Cranford soon-to-be senior Johnny Bush took his shot to qualify for a USGA championship on Wednesday.
