Rahway Culture Crawl 2017

Culture Crawl, a FREE one day festival is an explosion of the Arts all throughout the downtown of Rahway and will have your head spinning and your heart exploding! Artists of all genres will be on display, lining the streets of Rahway during this rain or shine event. Last year’s Tesla-Inspired event was such a success we decided to go bigger and better. This year we extended the hours and moved the event to a Saturday. Culture Crawl 2017 is a day where we “Embrace the cultural tapestry of Rahway through the arts.”

The day begins with the Rahway Yoga Mala at 8:30am at the Art Building on Irving Street in honor of the world day of peace. Open to all, this all levels yoga event will start your day with intention and peace. Bring your own mat. Suggested donation $10 for Adults and $5 for Children.

Visit one of our 10 featured areas and gaze as dancers from Grounded Aerial perform their gravity defying moves, try your hand at drone racing sponsored by The Drone Academy and enjoy a cycle of the Rahway Reel Short Film Festival including an excerpt from Ferne Pearlstein's full length movie, "Sumo East West" featuring Rahway's Own, Manny Yarborough. Grab a map to lead you to the OMG! Creation Station  and  the Wizdom Media and The Opportunist Vendor Village or  the ART-FULL KIDS section designed especially for the littlest artists.  Parents, guardians and friends can visit the Wine and Beer tent and play some games while the kids make a yoga paint mural, take a turn at the giant slide and create art along with memories! You can Enjoy a Culture Crawl Special Menu at one of our downtown eateries or visit one of the other beer gardens including at Northfield bank, hosted by the World Famous Waiting Room and grab a little something before heading to either of our main stages for a line up of exciting bands featuring Man Dancing, Levy & the Oaks, Charlie Sztyk, Seamstress,  Fire is Motion, Rahway native,  Matt Marlinski and many more!

The prestigious Visual Arts Center of NJ will bring their talents to Rahway just for our event! See everything but the fireworks as the Chinese Community Center transports you across the globe with their authentic Chinese festival. Perhaps you would like to bring your pooch down to our Bella and Luna (Rahway’s Ambassa-dogs) Pop Up Dog Park where they can make their mark on a puppy paw print mural.  Join in the drum Circle at MLK Jr park or hop on a hog at Hannums Harley Davidson Shop. Take a stroll or catch a shuttle throughout the town but make sure you don't miss a thing!

This event is RAIN OR SHINE.  Exhibits and performances will be moved indoors in the event of rain so there is no need to miss out on all of the excitement!
