Rahway HS JROTC Colorguard Presents Colors at Silver Rose Recognition Ceremony

Rahway HS Marine Corps JROTC colorguard with WABC news anchor, Diane Williams and her veteran son, Captain Nathaniel Shanks

The Rahway HS Marine Corps JROTC colorguard were photographed with WABC news anchor, Diane Williams and her veteran son, Captain Nathaniel Shanks at the Silver Rose Recognition Ceremony, John Basilone Detachment #190 on Saturday, June 3, 2017. The Rahway HS JROTC colorguard, led by Cadet Justin Bausch, presented colors during the ceremony as Diane and her son were made honorary members of the Marine Corps League.

This ceremony was extra special because the Marine Corps League celebrated the courage of Diane and the enduring spirit of Nathaniel as he continues to recover from a traumatic brain injury, suffered in a motorcycle accident in 2015. Diane credits faith, family, the “never give up” attitude of Nathaniel, and the support of the military as the reason for her sons rapid, but ongoing recovery.

Diane Williams posted a picture of the Rahway HS JROTC colorguard and members of the John Basilone Detachment on her Facebook page at  https://www.facebook.com/dianawilliams.abc7ny/.
