Senior Services Info Sessions To Be Held At Union County Libraries

Staff from the Union County’s Department of Human Services on Aging will be on hand at several libraries throughout July to answer residents’ questions about senior services.

The department’s Aging Services Kiosk (ASK) will be at the Elizabeth Main Brain Library at 11 South Broad St. from 10 a.m. to noon on July 26. The informational sessions will also be held at libraries in Clark, Fanwood, Linden and Union.

“ASK helps Union County residents access programs and services for seniors and their caregivers,” Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders Chairman Bruce H. Bergen said in a statement. “The ASK program brings our knowledgeable, experienced Division on Aging staff to locations throughout Union County, making it more convenient to meet with them in person.”

ASK staff will provide information about services for seniors over 60, including home delivered meals, respite care, home care, adult day care and support services for caregivers. They will also help with completing applications and forms.

ASK staff are part of the Union County Division on Aging and Disability Resource Connection. The division will have information printed in Spanish and English.

Additional sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Linden Public Library on July 5, the Clark Public Library on July 10 and the Fanwood Public Library on July 19. The Union Public Library will have a session on July 25 from noon to 2 p.m.
