The Gateway Family YMCA Swim Team Tryout Dates Announced

RAHWAY, NJ - The Gateway Family YMCA has announced upcoming try-outs for the 2017-2018 Rapids swim team, scheduled for August 25th at 6:30pm and August 27th at 2:00pm at The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch, 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ.  “After a very successful 2016-2017 competitive season, the team is looking to grow even more. Our diverse team currently encompasses more than 60 swimmers from towns in both Eastern Union and Northern Middlesex counties,” said Shannon Frank, Associate Branch Director, The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch.

The competitive swim season runs from September through March; with dual meets starting in October and Championship meets starting in February.  The Rapids swim team competes against other YMCAs in the Northern New Jersey Swim League. Swim meets are held on Saturdays at The Gateway Family YMCA - Rahway Branch or at the site of the competing YMCA.  “This year we are happy to announce that we will be adding additional swim meets to enhance our swimmers’ development,” said Rodger Koerber, Rahway Branch Executive Director.
