WEST ORANGE, NJ – Calling the mission of Josephine’s Place “God’s work,” Trinitas Regional Medical Center’s President and CEO Gary Horan accepted the Corporate Citizen’s Award at the non-profit’s annual gala at Mayfair Farm.

The medical center’s School of Nursing was also honored with Dean Donna Penn accepting the award.

Bishop Nicholas Di Marzo of Brooklyn was honored for his work in the areas of immigration assistance and refugee resettlement services, a commitment of 40 years. Josephine’s Place guests Olga Armas, Amanda Leon, and Gabriella Hernandez described their experiences at the women’s center.

Josephine’s Place is a drop in center dedicated to the empowerment of women. The storefront at 622 Elizabeth Avenue provides space where the women can learn English, computer skills, crafts, parenting skills and any need as they themselves request. Since it opened its doors in 2003, thousands of women have walked through its doors.
