Union County 4-H Students Share Valentine’s Day Greetings with Air Force National Guard

Student members of the Union County 4-H Dog Lovers Club put their hearts and hands into a community service project last Saturday, silkscreening and painting dozens of handmade Valentine’s Day cards for an Air Force National Guard company adopted by the club.

The company is stationed at McGuire Air Force Base and is currently deployed overseas.

Displaying a sample card alongside their mothers are club members Kaelin Tricoche (l.) and Emily Del Monte (r.).

A program of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Union County supported in part by the Freeholder Board, Union County 4-H Clubs foster leadership, civic engagement and other life skills. They are open to all Union County students in grades 1-12.

Thanks to a very generous donation from the Columbia Bank Foundation the students at Lamberts Mill Academy are learning how to build, program and fly drones. This innovative program will ensure that students gain skills needed for 21st Century employment.

Union County Interfaith Coordinating Council hosts Know Your Neighbor Event in Rahway

Recognizing the great divide that exists in the nation today, including fear of those who do not look like us, the Union County Interfaith Coordinating Council recently held a Know Your Neighbor event to foster greater familiarity of and friendship with others within the community.
