One of the new campaigns for the Union County College Foundation is to establish the Union County College Law Enforcement Scholarship Fund. Once endowed, this scholarship will provide financial support for active and retired police officers and their children.

Police officers are a vital part of the safety and well-being of the towns of Union County. The College is the top choice institution for higher education for those who want to advance their career. By establishing this scholarship, the Foundation can support the educational needs of police officers and their families. Union County College President Margaret M. McMenamin said of the scholarship, “The College is proud of our first responders and all they do to serve and protect the citizens of our local communities.” “The best way to continue to improve on the quality of the law enforcement services we provide to our communities is by investing in our most important asset, our police officers and their families.” stated Chief John Rodger of the Rahway Police Department.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $10,000 annually with the assistance of the Union County Police Chiefs Association and members of the local community.
