MORRIS PLAINS, NJ- After so many years of supporting the Interfaith Food Pantry through outreach food drives and scouting initiatives, the Saint Virgil Academy eighth grade class finally had an opportunity to tour the Pantry’s new Morris Plains facilities and lend a helping hand before they graduated in June.

The Interfaith Food Pantry is a non-denominational, non-profit 501 C(3) organization helping families make ends meet by supplementing their monthly groceries in times of need.

Upon their arrival to the Pantry, the Morris Township-based students presented a donation of food totaling 303 pounds from their class.  Then, the children received a guided tour of the Pantry and Resource Center, including the impressive culinary classroom and outdoor garden facilities.  The visit concluded with the eighth graders working in the warehouse, sorting food items and organizing shopping bags for patrons.
