RANDOLPH, NJ- Brundage Park Playhouse will host auditions for its new upcoming show, “New Beginnings: A Kid’s Cabaret.”
Auditions are scheduled for 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 1, for children ages 8-19 at the playhouse on Carrell Road.
Auditioners will be asked to prepare a song that best features their vocal range. A headshot and resume is helpful, but not required. If you do not have a headshot, a recent photograph will be sufficient.
Auditioners may be asked to read from provided sides. There are no appointments necessary.
The show will be directed by Nicole Howell and Matt Ross.
The show offers attendees a chance to be transported back to a simpler time, a time of blissful innocence transformed into young adulthood. Interspersed with musical numbers, poems and skits, the show invites the audience to reclaim the joys of childhood.
Actors, singers, and dancers from the ages of 8 to 19 will perform some of Broadway's biggest hits, including musical numbers from “Pippin,” “Matilda,” “Hairspray,” “Shrek the Musical” and “Songs for a New World.”
This year's production will also incorporate the original poetry, scene work, and monologues of co-directors Nicole Howell and Matt Ross. Performers of all levels of musical and dramatic experience are encouraged to audition.
Performance dates will be at 8 p.m. on Aug, 13, 14 and 15 and at 2 p.m. on Aug. 16 and 17.
