RANDOLPH, NJ- As the Babe Ruth playoffs continue to move along, there is a mix of many different emotions with each game getting more important.  Satisfaction for the winning team as they move on, and heartbreak for the losing team as their season ends.  Win or lose the competition is great and it gives these kids a chance to showcase their talents.

Orioles 6 Yankees 2:  In quaterfinal play, the Orioles hammered three key doubles, one each by Brendan Lowery, Henry Taibi and Austin Naravane to power their offense.  Nick Rosenbergen and Luke Spingarm turned in great pitching to help hold hte Yankees to only 2 runs.  The game ended with a fantastic 4-6-3 double play by the Orioles.  On a hard hit grounder, Nikhil Persaud made a nice diving stop.  He quickly got the ball to shortstop Rosenbergen, who then turned and fired to first baseman Taibi to complete the game ending play.

Orioles 8 Mets 2:  In a semifinal matchup, the Orioles put forth their best full team effort on the way to defeating the Mets Tuesday night.  Leading 3-1 going into the bottom of the fourth, the Orioles broke open the game by scoring 4 runs on four hits.  Jack Eames and Tim Archer ripped doubles and Josh Fitzgerald and Joey Recchia stroked singles to lead the barrage.  Mets shortstop Mike Olsakowski made a great play in the inning when he took a relay throw from left field and fired a perfect strike home to get out an orioles runner trying to score.
