ROXBURY, NJ- With seven different players contributing to their 13 goal total, the Randolph Rams overwhelmed Roxbury in the first round of the Morris County Boys Lacrosse Tournament by a score of 13-4 on Tuesday May 3.
Randolph was led by senior Jake Southren, who scored three goals and added an assist, and sophomore Max Pinilis who tallied two goals with two assists.
The No. 9 seeded Rams, who had an extra motivation factor to avenge an earlier season loss to No. 8 seeded Roxbury, wasted no time in jumping out to a 3-1 first quarter lead that swelled to 5-1 at half. The Rams dropped the hammer down on the Gaels in the third, picking up five more goals to blow the game open at 10-1.
Luc Swedlund had a goal and two assists, while Matt Holland and Matt Potter each collected two goals and an assist for Randolph.
Randolph now moves into the quarterfinals and will play on the road at top-seeded Delbarton on Thursday May 5.
Scott Kimiecik had six saves in goal for Randolph to pick up the win. Rounding out the scoring for the Rams were Zach Schuster with two goals and Kyle Campbell with one goal.
