RANDOLPH, NJ- Construction is under way on the Randolph School District's new grounds garage, which is located on Millbrook Avenue near the high school's athletic fields.
Andy Hurd, the district's director of buildings and grounds, said the new maintenance building will be used to house all of the district's grounds equipment including lawn mowers, tractors and trucks. Some of that equipment is located at various locations throughout the school district or even outside. "This project will help us centralize the district's grounds equipment," Hurd said. "This will help us operate more efficiently and will provide needed housing for our salt trucks during the winter months as well as give us needed space for equipment storage and routine repairs and maintenance."
The project costs $590,000 and is the last project in the $11.6 million 2011 school referendum, Hurd said. The referendum included many needed district improvements including turf fields and renovations to the high school auditorium.
