First Energy Donates to Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore

First Energy is pleased to partner with Morris Habitat for Humanity to provide a grant to support Operator Safety Training for the ReStore staff and volunteers. A check for $2,500 from First Energy Foundation was presented to Morris Habitat and the ReStore on January 16, 2018.  Pictured are Mel Oppenheimer, ReStore Advisory Committee; Blair Schleicher Bravo, CEO Morris Habitat; Michael Obremski, Area Manager, First Energy; Liz DeCoursey, COO Morris Habitat; Ben Roberts, ReStore Director.

About Morris Habitat for Humanity:

Morris Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization committed to building homes, communities and hope. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Morris Habitat builds new homes and provides home repair services to income eligible families.  Morris Habitat collaborates with other Habitat affiliates and related housing organizations to improve the affordable housing stock in the region, and over the last four years has more than doubled the number of homes built. Morris Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion.

Since 1985 Morris Habitat has served over 400 households though home ownership opportunities, home preservation, and international home building programs. Proceeds from the ReStore, opened May 2007, have helped to fund construction of while diverting almost 5,800 tons of useable material from local landfills.   The ReStore store is located at 274 South Salem Street, Randolph and store hours are Tues. & Thur. 10 - 8 p.m., Wed, Fri & Sat 10 - 6 p.m.

Free Movie Night at Randolph Lake Fri. July 20

RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph Municipal Alliance Committee (MAC) and the Randolph Parks & Recreation Department are hosting a free outdoor family movie night on Friday, July 20 at Randolph Park Beach (Green Lane). All are welcome to attend.

The movie, Paddington 2, will begin at 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be sold at the snack stand. Admission to the lake is free after 7:00 p.m.

RANDOLPH, NJ- Catriona Lucus, a rising freshman at Randolph High School has been named as a 2018 Maverik National Lacrosse All-Star and has been selected to attend the Maverik National Lacrosse Academy to be held July 16-19, 2018 in Frederica, Delaware at the DE Turf Sportsplex.

Rutgers Hikes Tuition, Student Fees for 2018-2019 Academic Year

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers University Board of Governors today approved a 2.3 percent hike in tuition and fees, as well as increases for dorm rooms and meals, for the 2018-2019 academic year.

The increase now brings the annual cost for undergraduate students to $14,975, which is $337 more than this past school year.
