RANDOLPH, NJ- The Elementary School geography bees took place the past couple of weeks.

Fernbrook geography bee winner Brandon Lakind, a fifth grader, won the school geography bee for the second year in a row.

Brandon said this year’s contest was much harder than last year’s event. “There were some very difficult questions,” he said, adding a question on waterfalls in South America was a tough one.

Brandon credits his success in the geography bees to his enjoyment of reading farmer’s almanacs and putting together puzzles of the world.

Ironia fifth grader Arya Mujumdar  won first place in the school geography bee at Ironia School.

Shongum School Principal Cliff Burns congratulated school geography bee winner Jaden Solotoff, a fourth grader. Jaden and the school's fourth and fifth graders took a written geography test. The students with the highest scores then competed in the geography bee. Jaden answered the most questions correctly and was named the winner.
