RANDOLPH, NJ— Pediatric Dental Associates of Randolph hosted the annual Give Kids A Smile® event on Feb. 6.   At this event underserved children were provided with free dental services at Pediatric Dental Associates of Randolph’s office at 390 Route 10 in Randolph.

This is the first year the event has been hosted at Pediatric Dental Associates of Randolph providing free dental care to local children who desperately needed it. Nearly all the children seen this day had never been to a dentist before.  In order to make this first experience a positive one, in addition to the expert care these children received from the Doctors and staff, Patti Meyer, also known as Tweedles The Clown was on hand making balloon sculptures for all patients.

Give Kids A Smile is held annually to:

·       Provide free, easily accessible dental services to qualifying individuals.

·       Raise awareness of the epidemic of untreated dental disease occurring locally and nationally and create local public and private partnerships to increase access to oral health care to solve this crisis.

Nearly one in four children aged two to 11 years old has untreated cavities in their baby teeth, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Many children enrolled in Medicaid receive no dental services throughout the year.

The American Dental Association (ADA) launched the Give Kids A Smile program nationally in 2003 as a way for dentists to join with others in the community to provide dental services to underserved children. Each year, about 350,000 to 400,000 children benefit from more than 1,500 events, all because of the efforts of 40,000 or more annual volunteers nationwide.

Giving back to the community is very important to Dr. Mannella of Pediatric Dental Associates of Randolph. In addition to Give Kids A Smile Day, Dr. Mannella continues to donate his time and skills to those in need at Morristown Medical Center and has done so for over 25 years.

July 16, 2018

RANDOLPH, NJ- A diner, back in the early days of diners, typically referred to a restaurant that resembled a dining car on a train.
