RANDOLPH, NJ - The Randolph YMCA opened its renovated, state-of-the-art cardio room after three weeks of construction and equipment upgrades.

Highlights of the Cardio Room are new machines that include cross-trainers, power mills, recumbent bikes, and treadmills with hi-definition individual entertainment centers.

A new air-handling system and LED lighting adds to members' comfort while working out and banks of TVs, all tuned to different stations, line the walls.

According to Kim Coward, a Randolph YMCA Board Member and frequent Cardio Room user, the upgrades are "amazing."

"The Board of Directors supports renovations and upgrades at the Y so we can better serve the community with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, said Coward.

The Cardio Room renovation is the first of many upgrades planned at the Y.

Bill Lamia, CEO of the Randolph Y said, "Our first ever capital campaign is also in the planning stages and will be an integral part of future projects."  Adding, "Our members deserve the best experience they can have at our Y."

Membership at the Y is open to all regardless of income or background and financial assistance may be available for local residents who cannot afford Y membership.
