RANDOLPH,NJ- On February 26, 2014, at 10:03 PM, the Randolph Police, Randolph Fire Department, Dover Fire Department, Denville Fire Department and Randolph EMS responded to 3 Openaki Road on a reported structure fire.
Upon the arrival of patrols, there were flames coming from the roof of the residence. Also ln the center of the roof there was a chimney which was fully engulfed in flames.
The fire had originally been discovered by one of the homeowners, who had taken their dog outside for a walk. There we no indications from the inside of the home that the house was actually on fire. All residents evacuated themselves and called 9-1-1.
Once fire units arrived on scene, the fire, which had extended through the attic, was quickly controlled and extinguished. The house however, did sustain heavy fire and water damage.
At this time, the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
There were no injuries as a result of this fire.
