TAPinto Travels is going to switch it up for you this weekend, because we have been forgetting the best visit of them all:  New York City and State.  Here are three activities that are guaranteed not disappoint.

If you liked Hunger Games -- and we're not talking about your New Year's diet -- then you probably always wanted to shoot a nifty bow and arrow like Katniss Everdeen. The New York Social Network is giving you that chance, organizing a 90-minute lesson at Queens Archery on Saturday Evening. Queens' coaches will be, ahem, aiming to make a life-long impression by teaching both physical and mental techniques of archery. NYSN members are to meet at the Flushing venue, then after the lesson will venture out for food and drink and perhaps discussion of who played the best best Robin Hood. Cost of $35 -- $30 for VIP members -- includes the lesson and equipment rental.
.....

Call it the strange case of Sammy Social: One day Sammy met with friends and toured some historic sites near Herald Square. But that night he met with a horrible fate and police now need your help to solve this case. Join the NYSN for the Great Midtown Murder Mystery and Scavenger Hunt in which you not only seek clues to Sammy's unfortunate demise, you will learn amazing bits and pieces of NYC history -- from Penn Station to 5th avenue, 32nd street to 35th street -- that you probably never knew. Each group will have 90 minutes to find as many clues as they can to help solve the case. Afterward they can compare notes and socialize over cocktails with other teams. Fun starts at the Playwright Irish Pub at 5 p.m.
.....
Spring is in the air and what better place to enjoy it than in the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley. The NYSN is offering a little something for everyone to enjoy the season, starting with a spectacular Metro North Train ride out of the concrete jungle and into the pastoral beauty. From there, enjoy a riverside barbecue surrounded by amazing views of the Hudson River, a moderate hike at Shaupeneak Ridge, a trip to a local farm stand, El Paso Winery and the walkway over Hudson Park. Pricetag of $80 ($70 for VIP members) includes transportation to all local activities and back from Poughkeepsie train, BBQ lunch, park and guide fees and winery fees. How do you find the group? Just get on the 9:48 a.m. train to Poughkeepsie, where your guide will be waiting at the top of the stairs. You can even drive to meet the group in Poughkeepsie by contacting group leader Dave Cervini at dave@newyorksocialnetwork.com.
