RANDOLPH, NJ- Chabad of Randolph is hosting a community-wide celebration, featuring a circus themed event and entertainment, on May 3, 5pm at Chabad of Randolph. The event, open to the public, will mark the observance of the Jewish holiday of Lag BaOmer, traditionally commemorated by large outdoor celebrations, which harbor spiritual significance.
The event will include top notch entertainment, featuring Kevin Carr (former Ringling Bros., Barnum & Bailey Circus entertainer)! The Circus event will include mentalism, magic, juggling, caricatures, BBQ, drinks, popcorn and more!
“We are excitedly looking forward to this year’s Lag Ba'omer celebration” said Chava Bekhor, of Chabad of Randolph. “With the circus themed event planned, it promises a good time for all.”
Chabad-Lubavitch, the largest Jewish outreach organization in the world, is hosting thousands of similar Lag Ba'omer celebrations in cities across the globe. The celebrations all share a common theme: Jewish Unity.
Historically, the holiday of Lag BaOmer was celebrated by going out to the fields for introspection and celebration. In 1953, the Rebbe—Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, considered the most influential rabbi in modern history— initiated the Lag BaOmer parade as a display of Jewish pride and unity. Since then, hundreds of thousands take part in parades and outdoor celebrations each year.
