RANDOLPH, NJ- Goals by Sean Jones and Noah Leinwand in the opening and closing minutes of the game book ended a 2-0 win for Randolph over Seton Hall prep on Friday Jan. 23

Jones scored just over a minute into the game to help the Rams jump out in front early 1-0.  Jones’ goal was assisted by Alex Kranis and Mathew Bruno.

The Rams carried play for most of the game, outshooting the Pirates in every period.  Seton Hall Prep goalie Jack McConeghy withstood the Rams pressure and kept the game close.

Late in the third with just over two minutes remaining, Noah Leinwand provided the game clinching goal the Rams were seeking.

In an unassisted effort, Leinwand rushed the puck up the left-wing boards and into the Pirates zone.  Just inside the face-off circle Leinwand squared to the net looking to center a pass, but instead ripped a wrist shot past McConeghy to give the Rams a 2-0 lead and effectively end the game.  Goalie Garrett Stenberg made 22 saves earning his second straight shutout.

The night before, Thursday, January 22 the Rams traveled to West Morris and came away with a 5-0 victory.

Michael Slavin had two goals and an assist, in a game that wasn't overly competitive as the Rams outshot West Morris 50 to 8.  Brian Early, Sean Jones, and Tyler Jones had the other three goals for Randolph.  Tom Weber added two assists on the game for the Rams, and Garret Stenberg stopped all eight shots for the shut out win.
