DENVILLE, NJ- After a scoreless regulation, the Randolph boys soccer team was deadlocked in a 0-0 tie with Morris Knolls late into the second OT. But before the clock struck 0:00, Randolph junior Chris Keaney sent his team into a raucous celebration when he netted the game winning goal for a 1-0, season opening victory.
“We simply wanted it more,” said Captain Ryan Ruhalter. “The OT victory was a great way to start the season and has us pumped up for what’s next.”
The win is also the second year in a row the Rams opened the season with an OT win over Knolls. Randolph faces Delbarton next on Friday Sept. 6 on the road, before returning to RHS for their home opener on Monday Sept. 9 against Mendham.
