RANDOLPH, NJ- Senior track star Abby Loveys is putting a huge exclamation point on her record setting, four year Randolph High School running career ( Cross Country and Track ).

On Wednesday May 15 Loveys upped her reputation and added to her legacy when she broke the 36 year old NJ state record in the 3200 Meters at the Morris County Championships.

Loveys ran a 10:10.24, besting the old mark of 10:12.80 set back in 1983 by Michelle Rowe of Washington Township.  Loveys’ record setting dash also smashed the Meet record, which was 10:25.33, and was good for #6 in the nation this year.

The 3200 record came on the heels of another record setting run the opening day of the Meet ( Tuesday ) when Loveys won the 1600 M in 4:50.12, breaking the Meet record set by Randolph’s Liz Lansing back in 2013.  The win made Loveys a four time 1600 winner at the Championship Meet.

Loveys will continue her running career after high school at Princeton University in the fall of 2019
