RANDOLPH, NJ - Mayor Roman Hirniak was the guest of honor at Cub Scout Pack 53's annual Blue and Gold Award Dinner. He joined the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of Pack 53 for the graduation ceremony for the fifth-grade Cub Scouts. Graduating fifth- grade Cub Scouts Jacob Coombs, Gavin Emdur, Samy Kouidri and Eric Krog crossed over to Boy Scout Pack 53 of Randolph.
Hirniak also presented a Proclamation to Randolph couple Deborah and John Krog for their six years of service in Cub Scouts and for mentoring more than 60 boys in the values of community service and environmental conservation. The couple are parents of graduating Cub Scout Eric Krog.
The mayor, who was a Ukranian Scout in his youth, spoke of the values of scouting and how it positively influenced his life. The mayor spoke to Cub Scout and Boy Scout leaders and even signed autographs for the kids.
This celebration also marked the 50-year anniversary of Pack 53 in Randolph.
