MORRISTOWN, NJ -  “We are incredibly proud of the national recognition our National Night Out has received,” said Morris County Park Police Chief Gabe DiPietro. “By offering a comprehensive array of participating agencies, we’re able to educate the public on the vast variety of community services available.”

The Morris County Park Police will host National Night Out on Tuesday August 7 from 5pm - 9pm at Mennen Arena. National Night Out is a campaign that promotes police-community partnership at the neighborhood level to improve safety.  This is the 34thannual National Night Out, and thousands of events are planned for the night of August 7 across all 50 states and Canada.

Participants can enjoy free food, free entertainment, free ice cream, free food, free ice cream and free attractions at Mennen Arena on Tuesday night. There will be police, fire, emergency, military, and rescue vehicles, such as motorcycles, ambulances, all-terrain vehicles, fire engines, and squad cars for kids and parents to explore. There will also be representatives from municipal, county, and state law enforcement agencies who will be on hand to answer any questions.

Bring the Kids to FREE National Night Out Event on Tuesday at Mennen Arena

Kids can also visit the horses of the Morris County Park Police’s award-winning Mounted Equestrian Unit, and play fun games to win prizes.

The Morris County Park Police Department also is offering the popular FREE Child ID cards, an initiative launched in 2000 that has registered more than 1,000 children annually. Representatives from JCP&L will operate a utility line truck and offer a hands-on demonstration of electric safety equipment and devices.

“National Night Out is an opportunity for residents to come out and interact with local law enforcement officials, civic groups and businesses to help promote safety in our communities,” said Jim Fakult, president of JCP&L.  “Throughout the year, we work with municipalities across our service area to enhance safety by keeping the streetlights on and we encourage homeowners to ensure their property is well lit.”
