RANDOLPH, NJ - The 54th season of Randolph Recreation Bulldog Football kicked off this past weekend with the annual Pep Rally on Friday night.

All levels of football players and cheerleaders were out on the field to celebrate the start of another exciting season of football and cheer. The ages ranged from the smallest of Bulldog boys and clinic cheer girls, the second grade instructional level, on up to the varsity level which includes the eighth grade boys and girls.

Long time Bulldog coach Jerry Davis took a moment to remind the crowd about MCYFL Charities, which takes collections at all Bulldog games to assist local families with children who face sudden life threatening illness or other hardships.  The charity has handed out over $105,000 over the past 5 years.

Davis also announced that September is “Gold Out Month” in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness.  Players and cheer members will don gold colored accessories with their uniforms, and many gold colored items will be for sale to benefit Pediatric Cancer research.

Starting with the youngest level and progressing up through the grades, the cheerleaders performed a cheer, and then formed a tunnel.  The associated level football team was then introduced and ran through the tunnel onto the field.
