RANDOLPH, NJ- Randolph High School senior James Saccone was named one of the finalists in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, which honors two youth volunteers and a few runners up from each state for their service to the community.

James was one of the six finalists who will receive the bronze Distinguished Finalist medallion in New Jersey. James is the regional coordinator of Sports Equipment Neighborhood Drive (SEND) and has collected 700 pieces of soccer equipment for needy children around the world.

In addition, James has founded the Italian Club, raising $33,000 to benefit Feeding America. James said he is humbled by the recognition, but has no plans to stop his philanthropy. “Charity is an essential part of who I am, not for the betterment of myself, but the betterment of the global community.”
