RANDOLPH, NJ- The explosive offense of the Randolph Rams Boys Lacrosse team helped them secure a win over the Rams from Oratory Prep, by a score of 14-5 on Thursday May 12 at Desilva Field.
The strong defense of Randolph also did their part in the victory, keeping Oratory Prep off the scoreboard for the entire second half of the game.
“Our Defense really stepped up to the task,” said Randolph Head Coach John Naslonski, when asked about the second half. “We shut them out.”
Both offenses started the game strong, with Randolph grabbing the lead early when Luc Swedlund netted the first of his game high six goals. of the game. Oratory Prep would answer back with two goals of their own to take a 2-1 lead at the 8 minute mark of the first quarter.
Randolph would keep it close in the first half of the game. Matt Holland scored a last second goal just before half, assisted by Tony Fodali, to give the Rams a 7-5 lead into the half.
The rest of the game was all Randolph, as the home team kept Oratory Prep backed up in their end. Controlling the ball and dictating the pace, Randolph would reel off seven straight unanswered goals for the final 14-5 margin.
Coach Naslonski also commented, “Our offense responded, and overall I would say we had a good game end to end.”
Max Pinillis had a five point game with three goals and two assists, while Jake Southren had two goals and two assists. Matt Holland, Matt Potter, and Zach Schuster each had one goal, and Scott Kimiecik picked up 10 saves in net for the win.
The Rams will be at home against North Warren Regional on May 16th.
