RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph 11U All-Star baseball team continued its successful summer season by defeating Ramsey on Saturday July 28, in the Section 1 Championship Game to claim the title.

The game, originally scheduled for Friday night, was rained out with Randolph holding a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning.  They resumed the championship game on Saturday at 5pm and Randolph went on to win 14-0.

In the Sectional final game, Zachary Moorhouse threw 4 innings and Zach Allen finished the last inning for a combined no-hit shut out. Moorhouse tallied eight strikeouts, and Allen added one strikeout.  The entire team contributed to the 14 runs, with Tyler Schwimer leading the way by going 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Cole Cabatic, Nate Frick, Darren Laqui, Jack Smith, and Adam Wilson also contributed key hits.

Randolph went a perfect 3-0 in the sectional tournament and remains one of the final four teams in the 11U age bracket still playing in the state of New Jersey.  Randolph will take on Livingston on Saturday August 4 at 11am in Paramus, where they will begin their quest for the State title.

Following that game, Toms River East will play Swedesboro/Woolwich at 1pm.  Both games will be played at the Cliff Gennarelli Sports Complex located at 1 Garden State Plaza Parkway in Paramus.  It is a double elimination tournament that will crown a NJ State Champion on Tuesday August 7th.

 The Randolph 11U team is managed by Coach Rob Dobres and his two assistant coaches Steve Moorhouse and Dave Wilson.
