RANDOLPH, NJ - The Randolph boys basketball team has stepped up its game recently, taking home upset wins in their last two games.

In the preliminary round of the Morris County tournament on Saturday Jan. 31, the 21st seeded Rams knocked off 12th seeded West Morris by a score of 50-48.

In a close, evenly played game, the Rams led by two after the first quarter and trailed by two at half. Both teams clamped down on defense in the third, scoring only six points apiece to enter the fourth with West Morris still clinging to a two-point lead.

The fourth quarter was just the opposite, as the offenses took over and the game turned into a run and gun scoring fest to the finish. The Rams poured in 21 points, outpacing West Morris who scored 17, as Randolph grabbed a two-point upset victory.

The Rams were led by Andrew Scancalepore who put up 13 points in the game. Jeremy Simmons supported the effort with nine points and Eric Schuette connected on two 3-pointers on his way to eight points for the Rams.
