RANDOLPH, NJ- Randolph High School Boys Basketball JV and Freshman teams put together “care packages” from generous donations made by the RHS community and basketball families. The gift bags, filled with soaps, powders, lotions, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, were presented to the elderly residents at Sunrise Assisted Living of Randolph.
As the boys delivered the items, Sunrise Activity Coordinator Leigh Gardner said, “Our supplies were running very low, so this is a great help.”
This is the second annual RHS Boys Basketball toiletries drive for Sunrise. These donations provided each of the 100 residents with an assortment of essentials, as well as offering many ‘welcome packages’ for any new incoming residents.
The boys enjoyed meeting the recipients of their donations and were appreciative as the seniors gushed over them. “They were all so friendly and you could tell they were happy to see us,” said freshman Rory Durbin. “It was so nice to brighten their day.”
