RANDOLPH, NJ- The annual Randolph – Roxbury Cup lacrosse game has once again been won by the neighboring Gaels, who took a 16-7 win home on Thursday Apr. 27.

While the Rams boast some pretty strong offensive firepower averaging ten goals per game this season, Roxbury has torn through their schedule to the tune of a 10-1 record, while averaging 14 goals per game.  The Gaels spread the ball around on offense as well, with four players registering over 25 goals so far this season.

The Rams fell behind early, trailed 9-3 at half, and found themselves chasing the Gaels all game long.  Roxbury continuously won the ground ball and face-off battles, controlling possession in the Rams end for a good part of the game and therefore out shot Randolph by a wide margin.

A low scoring third quarter left the Rams still trailing 10-4 entering the fourth, which saw Roxbury take advantage of their numerous chances and pour on the scoreboard for the final tally of 16-7.

Max Pinilis collected four goals and an assist for Randolph, while Luc Swedlund scored two goals and Matt Holland registered a goal and three assists.

The Rams record stands at 7-4, and they play next on Tuesday May 2 against Mendham in the Morris County Tournament first round.
