Randolph Freedom Festival is This Weekend, Parade and Fireworks Too

RANDOLPH, NJ- Once again, the Randolph Kiwanis Club is proud to partner with Randolph Township to present the Randolph Freedom Festival. This three-day celebration starts at 6pm on Thursday, June 28th and continues through Saturday June 30th at the County College of Morris, 214 Center Grove Rd, Randolph, NJ. Great rides, carnival games, food trucks, merchandise vendors and free family entertainment all three days mark this year’s event.

This year, there will be TWO Bracelet nights for the rides, Thursday, June 28th and Friday, June 29th – you can ride as many times as you like for $25.

Thursday, June 28th, the live music stage will have performances by Galactus Cactus (6:30pm) and The Outcrops (8:30pm)

Friday, June 29th, the live music stage will have performances by Flashback (6:30pm) and Beanbop Jazz Trio (8:30pm). In addition, on Friday, festival attendees wearing their Randolph Gear (Randolph T Shirts, shorts etc) will receive a prize at the Kiwanis Booth (first 500 people).

Saturday, June 30th, the Kiwanis Freedom Parade will step off at 12 noon, led by Grand Marshal Walt Pugsley, a Randolph resident who flew 50 missions with the Navy anti-submarine patrols during WWII and has been a member of Randolph’s volunteer fire department since 1953. The parade will start at the Mt Fern Church at Quaker Church Road and continue down onto Center Grove road, crossing Route 10 and ending at the County College of Morris.

Directly after the parade, the final day for the Freedom Festival will begin. The afternoon’s entertainment will include Amazing Bubbles with EaZy Bubbles, Touch-a-Fire Truck and Fire Hose water fun along with live music from the Atlantic Café Band and School of Rock. At night, there will be a DJ spinning all of today's best music before and during the great fireworks display that is scheduled to start after dusk.

Free Movie Night at Randolph Lake Fri. July 20

RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph Municipal Alliance Committee (MAC) and the Randolph Parks & Recreation Department are hosting a free outdoor family movie night on Friday, July 20 at Randolph Park Beach (Green Lane). All are welcome to attend.

The movie, Paddington 2, will begin at 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be sold at the snack stand. Admission to the lake is free after 7:00 p.m.

Catriona Lucus Selected to Play in 2018 National Lacrosse Academy

RANDOLPH, NJ- Catriona Lucus, a rising freshman at Randolph High School has been named as a 2018 Maverik National Lacrosse All-Star and has been selected to attend the Maverik National Lacrosse Academy to be held July 16-19, 2018 in Frederica, Delaware at the DE Turf Sportsplex.

Rutgers Hikes Tuition, Student Fees for 2018-2019 Academic Year

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers University Board of Governors today approved a 2.3 percent hike in tuition and fees, as well as increases for dorm rooms and meals, for the 2018-2019 academic year.
