RANDOLPH, NJ- Like so many events and milestones this year, the annual Randolph High School Cheerleading Banquet which was originally scheduled for March 15, had to be canceled due to the school closure on March 13. Not to be undone, the Cheerleading Boosters put together a virtual banquet which was released on June 14.

In order to work within state and school guidelines related to the Covid-19 virus, a Zoom banquet was held, hosted by Booster President Cheryl Freund and included speeches and presentations by Randolph High School Athletic Director David Hutchinson; Cheerleading Coaches Melissa Hull, Katherine Vetrone and Olivia Dunnigan and the team’s graduating senior cheerleaders – Gia Esposito, Adriana Kolic, Cali Louro, Haley Nadler, Blake Sawyer, Isabella Stoepel and Emily Tully.

The recorded Zoom banquet link was sent out at noon on June 14. However, the banquet wasn’t all virtual. At 3:00pm the same day, a surprise car parade visited each senior cheerleader’s home where senior gifts, captains’ plaques, specialty awards, senior student-athlete scholarship certificates, and other celebratory recognitions were delivered.  Prior to the banquet, senior certificates, letters, and patches were distributed by the school to the seniors on June 5.  Underclassmen certificates, letters and patches will be distributed by the coaches at a later date.

"The banquet was obviously a bit different than our usual celebration, but it was still amazing! The icing on the cake to this special celebration was the awesome parade! I know that my Senior was so emotional and touched (as were her parents) and it completely brightened her day,” shared parent Allyson Louro.

"I can’t even explain how much the banquet meant to us,” said Amy Tully, another senior parent.  “It was such an emotional day that will always be a great memory for all the senior girls!"
