RANDOLPH, NJ- Randolph High School juniors Miyu Liu and Hannah Coward were named the top honorees and will have works of art they created used as program covers in the Mayo Performing Arts Center Annual Program Book Art Cover contest.

More than 70 students from area middle and high schools entered the contest with the theme “Imagine! Discover! Create! Celebrate MPAC and the Arts.” Miyu and Hannah were honored at a special reception at the arts center on Feb. 28 along with two Boonton High School students and a Mount Olive Middle School student. Their artwork was also exhibited in the arts center gallery through March 12.

RHS Visual Arts Teacher Meredes Ingenito said Randolph students have won this cover contest for the past seven years.  The contest “provides all of our students with the opportunity of taking on the role of graphic designer, a real life skill that students may pursue in their future,” she said.

"We are thrilled to have had a record number of visual arts students participate in this year's contest," said Cathy Roy, Education Director at MPAC. "Each year it becomes more and more difficult to select our winners. We hope that everyone coming to MPAC in the next two weeks will take the time to view their creative works."
