The body of John Grieb, 44, of Randolph Township, was recovered at 9:32 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24, from Spruce Run Reservoir after an extensive search by New Jersey State Police divers, according to reports.
According to published comments from Grieb’s younger brother, John and a neighbor were out on a small boat fishing in the reservoir. After pulling their boat onto the bank to have lunch, the wind blew it back out into the water. Both men attempted to retrieve the boat, but only Grieb’s companion made it back to the shore.
