RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph Middle School PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) makes significant contributions towards the enrichment and needs of the student body every year.

The primary fundraising efforts of the PTO take place at the beginning of the year with a PTO Membership drive.  The money collected from this fundraiser determines the available budget for events, guest speakers, assemblies, field days, dances and new initiatives for the upcoming year.

Under the direction of Dr. Dennis Copeland, Middle School Principal, the Randolph Middle School focuses on four multi-year initiatives for the adolescent child. These include academics, social & motional learning, health & wellness, and the learning environment.

In the the learning environment area, RMS is currently in the process of renovating its’ Media Center to provide students and staff with an expanded learning space for large groups and teams.

Dr. Copeland describes the Media Center changes as, “Doubling in space and will feature modern state-of-the art technology including hi-resolution projection screens, wireless connectivity with individual devices, tele-conference video, and audio for student presentations.  The RMS PTO has generously offered to donate $6,000, or approximately one-fourth of the cost for this RMS project.”

Another notable donation by the PTO this year is two new GoPro Cameras.  These cameras will be used by students for projects, presentations and SGA promotional videos.

A significant dollar amount has been earmarked for an RMS school beautification project, which may include artwork in the hallways and courtyard seating.

Whether it’s the traditional “Bagel and Locks” programs for new 6th graders to become comfortable with their lockers, treats offered during Teacher Appreciation week or an Author’s visit, PTO membership dollars are very helpful in making the RMS experience the very best it can be.

To get involved in these wonderful initiatives, become a part of a PTO Committee or join the RMS PTO for as little as $10, please contact Cynthia Fearon, the President of RMS PTO at cyndieford@yahoo.com
